Universal Showdog GM, George Nunes, Joins Muzit Team

Respected Music Industry veteran, George Nunes, has left Toby Keith’s multi platinum label, Show Dog Universal to take on the role of EVP For Business Development for industry disruptor, Muzit.  Nunes was most recently General Manager of Toby Keith’s multi platinum label, Show Dog Universal Music. Prior to Show Dog, George was Vice President of Music, Video and Product Development at NBC.  Nunes held additional positions as Vice President Media Properties at the House of Blues and Vice President Sales & Marketing Capitol Records.

“George brings a tremendous amount of music industry experience and connections to Muzit” said Tommy Funderburk, Muzit Founder and Chairman.  Added Greg Titus, who recently joined Muzit as CEO, “We’re excited to have George on the Muzit Team.  His industry knowledge and connections will help us take Muzit to the next level. “

“Even though Tommy and I have been friends for years, when he described Muzit’s platform to me, I was skeptical” says Nunes. “Like most in the industry, I believed file sharing had replaced P2P activity. But when I saw the TRACE platform in action and saw the size of daily file sharing Muzit identified, I became a believer. I remember how the industry was  transformed when SoundScan was finally adopted back in the 90s.  I believe Muzit’s ability to identify hundreds of millions of fans who use P2P networks and Muzit’s artist and fan friendly marketing approach will be the next sea change for artists and all copyright owners.”

With over 40 years of entertainment industry experience, George Nunes is one of the most respected executives in the business. George brings to Muzit a level of understanding only one who has represented megapersonalities like Paul McCartney, Metallica, Heart, Pink Floyd  and major entertainment companies can know. George’s long standing personal relationships with top Entertainment Executives and intimate knowledge of the challenges facing the entertainment industry gives Muzit a great executive advantage.
