BOARD OF DIRECTORS
When Muzit says it was created by artists for artists, its really true. As a recording artist and hit songwriter, Tommy is internationally recognized as the voice of seminal hit albums for RCA, BMG, MCA, Polydor and Pioneer music labels. Additionally, Tommy has performed on hundreds of recordings including many international and Grammy-winning number one hits by artists as diverse as Boston and Celine, Dion, Jimmy Page and Andrae Crouch, Bon Jovi and Henry Mancini, Heart, Earth Wind & Fire, Elton John, Spinal Tap, Cheap Trick, Amy Grant, Bad Company, Burt Bacharach, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake, REO Speed Wagon, Airplay, Motley Crue and so many others.
In 2002, Tommy founded Sovereign Artists, the industry’s first direct-to-fan online music label. As CEO, he experienced first hand how difficult it is to compete with the torrent world where all digital copyrights are readily available for ‘free’. But unlike those who considered P2P users to be ‘pirates’ who should be punished, Tommy saw the P2P community as an untapped distribution channel to millions of potential customers and in 2013 founded Muzit, the music industry’s first artist and fan friendly P2P Big Data platform. Tommy’s deep industry knowledge, well established relations with artists, managers, labels and publishers and his passion for the creative community continue to shape Muzit’s vision to transform the industry.
Tommy graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA in Education and still believes he made the right decision to make music rather than becoming a high school history teacher. Tommy continues to record with his writing partner Bruce Gaitsch as King Of Hearts.
